Queen’s South Africa Medal, 4 Clasps, Private Carey, 75th Coy Imperial Yeomanry

Clasps- Cape Colony,  Orange Free State,  South Africa 1901,  South Africa 1902.

Medal correctly impressed- 35602 Pte. C. Carey. 75th Coy. Imp. Yeo.

With copy service papers (4 pages). Charles Carey, born Guisborough, Yorkshire, a miner in  civilian life,  attested 26th Feb 1901 joining the ‘Duke of Cambridge’s Own Imperial Yeomanry’. Carey declared previous military  service in the 1st North Yorkshire Artillery Volunteers.  He served 1 year and 88 days in South Africa.  The four clasps are confirmed on his service papers. Carey was discharged medically unfit at Shorncliffe on the 5th July 1902.  Home address appears to be 44 Bolckow Street, Guisborough.
