203181 Private William Richardson, 17th Battalion Manchester Regiment, (+17th (2nd City) Battalion, Manchester Regiment, Manchester Pals.) Killed in Action, 9th September 1917.  Son of the late John and Betsy Richardson, of Bury; husband of Edith Richardson. His son Clarence was lost at Sea in the Dover Patrol in 1918.

MERSEY Z/3821 Clarence Richardson Ordinary Telegraphist Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, Age 18, Died 15 Feb 1918  H.M. Drifter  “Jeannie Murray.” (Additional information: Son of the late Pte. William Richardson (Manchester Regt.)) ‘Jeannie Murray’ was a hired net drifter, sunk 15th February 1918—one of multiple drifters sunk off Dover during an attack by German Torpedo Boats on this day.
