Slightly scuffed over ‘Bord’ some rim nicks, suspension missing

7093 Private George Wynn, 2nd Battalion King’s Own Scottish Borderers, Killed in Action 14th September 1914. Born and resided Leeds. Commemorated La Ferte-Sous-Jouarre Memorial, France.

Quantity of service papers have survived for Wynn and are digitised online. Enlisted 15th March 1900, a labourer aged 18. Served in the Boer war and entitled to a QSA and KSA pair. Has extensive record of bad behaviour including conviction by civil power of ‘Riotous and disorderly conduct’. To Army Reserve 1908, mobilised at Berwick, 5th Aug , to France 10th Aug 1914
