1878-80 Afghanistan Medal. Private Marsh 70th Foot. (Defective)
Suspension has been replaced with a British War Medal suspension. It has been quite well done and is solid.
Medal correctly engraved in the usual style: 47 Bde/734 Pte. R. Marsh 70th foot
Service papers have survived for Private Marsh and good printed copies are included.
Robert Marsh born St Catherine, near Bath, Somerset. Attested at Red Hill 5th Nov 1877 aged 19, a farm labourer. served 6 years 91 days regulars and 5 years 114 days in the Army Reserve.
