Multiple knocks and contact marks, top lugs clipped off the clasp

Medal impressed 2804 Wm. Manary 44th Reg. First couple of digits of the number are weak with impacts – see photograph of the naming.

Service papers exist for Manary.

2804 Sgt William Manary. Born Waringstown, Down, Ireland.  Attested at Lurgan, Armagh, 20th May 1846. 5′ 6¾”, complexion fresh, eyes blue, hair sandy. served:- Mediterranean, 5 years 2 months; Crimea 2 years 3 months; China 1 year 9 months; East Indies 6 years 3 months.

Papers state also entitled to the Sebastopol clasp. His other medals, (location unknown) are :  China Medal clasp ‘Taku Forts 1860’, and a LSGC Medal. Manary was Discharged in 1867.
